Dr. Amirtahà Taebi

Assistant Professor of Bioengineering

Dr. Amirtahà Taebi is an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering and an affiliated faculty member at the Center for Community-Driven Assistive Technologies at Lehigh University. He is a recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award (2024) and was named an ASME Rising Star of Mechanical Engineering (2024). Additionally, he was recognized as the runner-up for the North American Artery Society Career Development Award (2026). His previous honors include an honorable mention for the Skalak Award by the ASME Bioengineering Division and selection as a 2025 Lehigh University Faculty Fellow to the United Nations. Our Logo

The logo of our lab consists of four main elements:

  • Acoustic/vibration Signal: The noninvasive diagnosis methods and personalized treatments that we develop at Taebi Lab are based on signals such as body sounds and vibrations.
  • Sensor: These sounds and vibrations are measured using sensors such as stethoscopes, accelerometers, and gyroscopes.
  • Signal Features: The gray line in the "Acoustic Signal" is the symbol of a meaningful feature that leads to a better and faster identification of a medical condition.
  • Taebi in Persian: the lab's name written in Persian script.

With the goal of "Intelligent Medical Decision Making for Health Equity" guiding us, our logo represents our commitment to improving health equity through developing cost-effective and widely accessible noninvasive diagnosis methods and personalized treatments.
