Hydraulic Servomechanism

This servosystem is typical of hydraulic systems common on aircraft and earth-moving equipment. In this experiment, the angular position of an inertial load on the shaft of a rotary hydraulic motor is to follow a low-power electrical reference signal as closely as possible.

Control techniques studied:

  • Open-loop performance evaluation
  • Frequency-domain identification of the motor transfer function
  • Position feedback control design
  • Velocity feedback control design
