The Web is a great way to view past articles. (Sorry, no web search capability exists for articles prior to 1995.)

• Use Google threaded. Or, Google Advanced Search. Google has extensive online help and over 31,837 vse-l articles dating back to July 1995 (except for 290 articles missing from bit.listserv.vse-l from April 1998).

  Shortcuts to other mainframe related newsgroups. comp.lang.asm370 bit.listserv.cics-l unfortunately is not mirrored bit.listserv.vmesa-l bit.listserv.ibm-main

  NEWSGUY (vse-l's gateway to the internet and usenet) is another way to get to bit.listserv.vse-l

• web Hypermail - Has approximately the last 60 days, updated twice a day in the wee, early morning and noonish, EST.

  (Reminder: you must subscribe if you want to post to vse-l)

Lehigh University's vse-l archives cover the entire history of vse-l, back to our earliest days in 1987!

E-mail (read carefully - Note upper case 'A' in the name 'Archives')

1. send 'search vse-l/Archives abcd...xyz' to listserv@Lehigh.Edu to search for 'abcd...xyz'
   o Search returns a message of which archive files contain the search text.
   o Searches are NOT case sensitive.
       o 'help search' to listserv@Lehigh.Edu sends information on how to search the archives.
       o ('index vse-l' in the body of a message to listserv@Lehigh.Edu sends names of all files.)
2. send one or more 'get vse-l/Archives/yymm' to get a (monthly) archive file

    Read this * information about file formats.
    Anonymous ftp is to ftp.lehigh.edu:/pub/listserv/vse-l/Archives (upper case A required)

* WARNING: .Z files are unix compressed files. Remove the .Z extension from the file name and Lehigh's WWW and FTP servers will be nice and automatically decompress the file for you. So ftp://ftp.lehigh.edu/pub/listserv/vse-l/Archives/yymm will give you a text file, ftp://ftp.lehigh.edu/pub/listserv/vse-l/Archives/yymm.Z will most likely give you trouble.
