Research Overview

The Loewy Institute at Lehigh University is committed to advancing materials-led research and education. Researchers in our labs take a cross-disciplinary approach to developing, understanding and controlling techniques for forming and processing various materials. We explore new knowledge to improve extrusion of metals, powders and polymers, sheet material formability, rolling, wire drawing, forging, semi-solid forming, light-optical and electron-optical micro-texture analysis, coatings of powders, tooling design and tooling materials, thermo-mechanical processing of metals, and rapid prototyping and rapid tooling.
