Research Project Foci

If you are interested in how active tectonics, climate, and autogenic processes
conspire to sculpt landscapes like this one, and how geologic geomorphology
at all scales intersects with the human dimension, then click here.  These research
projects are designed for those with academic, research, and geo-technical ambitions.

Our fossil-fuel based economy generates ~40 Gt/yr of carbon dioxide (CO2),
that is driving surface temperatures beyond the 1.5oC threshold  required to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
Capturing and storing CO2 at the GtCO2/yr scale in cost-efficient ways has now become a global imperative.
If you are increasingly motivated, as I am, to try to do something about the growing
climate crisis, then click here to see what I am doing with Engineering College colleagues,
to take advantage of Pennsylvania's enormous capacity to sequester or mineralize CO2.
These research projects are designed for those with alternative energy and
managing the growing climate crisis applied science ambitions.
