Our 2019-2020 competion

This year, INNOV8 will be participating in the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association's Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (ESRA IREC). ESRA hosts the IREC each year to bring together schools from across the country to launch the rockets that they create. ESRA gauges successful execution by designating altitude, payload and trajectory requirements for rockets based upon respective competition class. INNOV8 has designed our system to meet the specifications of the higher, 30,000 ft apogee class competition. These requirements will provide a greater challenge and potential reward for Lehigh and its affiliates.

More about ESRA

ESRA has been a prominent member of the engineering community since its beginnings in 2003 and has
been fostering engineering and creativity ever since. INNOV8 believes that participating in ESRA's competition will provide students the ability to use their engineering skills from the classroom in a productive, fun, and hands-on manner.

Past years

In previous years, Lehigh INNOV8 was a proud participant in the SpaceX Hyperloop competition. The team successfully designed and manufactured a Hyperloop pod which was qualified into the competition's final round.

More about Hyperloop

Over the years, INNOV8 has performed several research activities regarding autonomous
transportation solutions. INNOV8 partnered with Lehigh's Mountaintop Program in performing a
feasibility study regarding the implementation of a campus monorail system, as well as a network of
autonomous electric cars for transporting students and faculty around campus.
