Our proposed studies on promoting the activity of Receptor Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase by targeting their transmembrane interactions has been accepted for funding. See the announcement.

4/18/2019: Congratulations to Dr. Janessa Gerhart!

Dr. Gerhart successfully defended her Ph.D. Thesis on her fabulous work on the development of tumor-selective therapies. The entire group is very proud. She will pursue an academic career as a Teaching Postdoc at Villanova University.

6/19/2018: Summer BDSI Grant

Our group, in collaboration with Wonpil Im lab, has been awarded a grant from the Lehigh Biosystems Dynamics Summer Institute to identify new allosteric inhibitors of PTP1B. As part of this initiative, we are happy to welcome Anothony Varshavskiy and Journey Lopez (RARE student) to our group.

Congratulations to Dr. Bloch, who successfully defended her Ph.D. Thesis on her fantastic studies of the homodimerization of RPTPs. We are all very proud of her. She will pursue her love of teaching as a Science Teacher at the Pomfret Boarding School (Pomfret, CT).

6/17/2017: Congratulations to Dr. Kelly (King) Burns

Congratulations to Dr. (King) Burns, who successfully defended her Ph.D. Thesis. She is the first PhD student to graduate from the Thévenin Lab. We are all very proud of her. She will continue her research endeavor at the US Naval Research Laboratory (Center for Biomolecular Science & Engineering) in Washington, D.C.

12/1/2015: NIH-NCI Grant on Receptor Protein-Tyrosine Phosphatases

Our lab was awarded an NIH-NCI R21 grant to determine how a receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase physically interacts with itself and with the epidermal growth factor receptor, and how these interactions affect EGFR tyrosine phosphorylation.

Congratulations to Ryan McKay for obtaining his M.S. in Bioengineering. Ryan is now officially the first graduate from the Thévenin Lab!! He will be joining the Bioengineering Ph.D. Program at the University of Maryland in the Fall.
