Installing QAS Desktop Pro

 

NOTE: You must have the proper network permissions to install and run this software.

 

 

How to install it:

 

1) Close all programs before installing because the install will need to restart your computer.

 

2) Go to the following directory:

                 J:\banner\qas

 

3) Double Click

                 "Plug and Go.PWC"

 

4) Follow the instructions below "Configuring the QuickAddress Pro to use the new server".

 

 

 

Configuring the QuickAddress Pro to use the new server:

 

1) Go to the following directory using 'My Computer'

                 C:\Program Files\QAS\QuickAddress Pro

 

2) Right-Click the "QAWORLD.INI" file and select "Open With...", then choose "Notepad"

 

3) Change the following line from :

                 "ServerAddress=QATCPIP:lewis2.cc.lehigh.edu:2021"

           to

                 "ServerAddress=QATCPIP:qas1:2022"

 

    (notice you are only changing the server name from lewis2.cc.lehigh.edu to qas1, and the port number from 2021 to 2022)

 

4) Close the file and be sure to save it.

 

5) Restart QAS if you already have it open.

 

 

 

How to use it:

 

Start -> All Programs -> QuickAddress Pro 5.03 -> QuickAddress Pro

 

1) Program starts, then reduces itself to the lower icon tray on your    PC.

2) Go to a address form in Banner.

3) Use the hot keys "Alt" - "a" to display the QAS screen.

4) Follow the directions given on the QAS screen.

5) After "Accept" is pressed the address items will be populated to the INB Banner form.
