Jesus M Salas grew up in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico.  He grew up playing golf competitively, ultimately representing Mexico at the Optimist Junior World tournament, where he did not do that well.  His parents and brother both still live happily in Mexico, as do most of his extended family. He moved to the US for college at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, majoring in mathematics. He then attended Miami of Ohio where he obtained an MA in Economics. He then went to the University of Oklahoma, where he obtained his PhD in Finance. He still holds his MuOhio redhawks and his OU sooners in high regard. He also supports the Mexican national soccer team, the Tburones rojos soccer club from Veracruz, FC Barcelona and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jesus enjoys playing soccer, golf and traveling in his spare time. Below are some websites he uses to help organize his travels. Jesus is also the president of the Two Brothers Foundation which operates in the shantytown of Rocinha in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
