CALL FOR SPEAKERS

Call for Poster Sessions
The College and Research Division, Pennsylvania Library Association, seeks speakers for the state's annual conference PaLA@100 -- Advancing Libraries, Enriching Lives October 14 - 17, 2001, Philadelphia at the Adam's Mark Hotel.

Programs are allowed sixty minutes and can be structured at the discretion of the speaker(s). We are seeking dynamic speakers to share their research and interests on current issues, trends, or challenges facing academic libraries. These include, but are not limited, to:

  • bibliographic instruction and information literacy
  • cooperation between public and academic libraries
  • copyright
  • distance and distributed education
  • library advocacy
  • services to diverse populations
  • As a recipient of a grant through the State Library, the College and Research Division will be able to provide speakers grants to cover expenses.

    To be eligible the speaker needs to submit title, a one-page program description, biographical statement, list of publications and/or presentations, and estimated expenses to:

    Call for Poster Sessions

    The College and Research Division, Pennsylvania Library Association, seeks poster session presenters for the state's annual conference PaLA@100 -- Advancing Libraries, Enriching Lives October 14 - 17, 2001, Philadelphia at
    the Adam's Mark Hotel.

    Poster sessions presenters are expected to staff their exhibits at times to be specified, to prepare posters visible from ten feet and to provide adequate copies of handouts. We are seeking poster sessions that promote professional information exchange on both practice and research related to current issues and trends facing academic libraries. These include, but are not limited, to:

  • bibliographic instruction and information literacy
  • cooperation between public and academic libraries
  • copyright
  • distance and distributed education
  • library advocacy
  • services to diverse populations
  • As a recipient of a grant through the State Library, the College and Research Division will be able to provide poster session participants with grants to help cover presentation materials and travel expenses.

    To be eligible the poster session applicant needs to submit title, a one-page program description, biographical statement, list of publications and/or presentations, and estimated expenses to:
