College of Health

On October 25, 2016, President Simon announced an ambitious new plan to move Lehigh forward in significant and powerful ways.  The Path to Prominence: Our Vision for a Strong, More Dynamic Lehigh, includes key elements and significant growth for our institution.

One key element is the establishment of a new College of Health. The provost pulled a committee together to help define key focus areas for the new College.  The committee worked to collaboratively recommend areas of focus for Lehigh, whether they correspond to a given member's area of interest or not. The committee consulted widely within Lehigh and outside of Lehigh, particularly with key leaders in health to help us understand what the future might look like and how that should influence our academic thinking.

In April 2017, the committee put forth their recommendations to President Simon and the then provost, Patrick Farrell.

Below, you will find the Patrick Farrell’s charge to the committee; a health market analysis; and the final committee report. Lehigh authentication is required to access the materials.

Consultant Teams

In the fall of 2017, the University engaged two consultants, Boston Consulting Group and Strategy+, to help us with our work on the new College of Health.  Both consultants began intensive work in fall 2017, and each has a separate on-campus partner group that they are working with.
