Regular meetings of the university faculty senate are held at 1:00 pm on eight approximately evenly spaced Fridays within the academic year. Specific dates are chosen by the chair of the senate to be consistent with the university calendar, legal and religious holidays, and vacation periods. Additional meetings may be called by the executive committee of the senate. University faculty senate meetings are open to all members of the faculty unless two-thirds of the senate votes to close the meeting.
Voting members of the faculty senate include those members elected directly to the senate by their respective college. Ex-officio, non-voting members of the senate include: the president; provost; college deans; the secretary of the faculty; the university parliamentarian; the president of the student senate; and the president of the graduate student senate.
There will be one regularly scheduled university faculty meeting held at 4:10 pm on a Monday per academic year. The specific date will be determined by the executive committee of faculty senate to be consistent with the university calendar, legal and religious holidays, and vacation periods. Additional university faculty meetings may be called by the executive committee of the senate.
