NYC Trip to Deloitte and EY
NYC Trip to Deloitte and EY! By Brooke Huntington

On October 9th, members of the Lehigh Accounting Club had the incredible opportunity to visit two of the Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte and EY, at their New York City offices. The trip offered valuable insights into professional life in public accounting, meaningful conversations with Lehigh alumni, and a firsthand look at the culture and environment of both firms.

The day began at EY, where students participated in an engaging panel discussion with professionals from audit, tax, and consulting. Panelists shared thoughtful advice on transitioning from college to full-time work, preparing for the CPA exam, and making the most of internship experiences. Following the discussion, the group received a full office tour, getting a closer look at EY's modern and collaborative workspace designed to foster connection and innovation.

In the afternoon, the group visited Deloitte's Hudson Yards office. Students joined breakout room conversations with Deloitte professionals and Lehigh alumni, discussing career paths, firm culture, and the evolving world of accounting and advisory services. A highlight of the afternoon was a special appearance by Dipti Gulati, CEO of US Audit & Assurance at Deloitte and proud Lehigh alumna. She shared her career journey and offered powerful advice on leadership, confidence, and curiosity-leaving everyone feeling motivated and inspired.

The visit ended on a sweet note with cupcakes and Magnolia Bakery's famous banana pudding, giving students a chance to reflect on an unforgettable day of learning and connection.

The Accounting Club extends its sincere appreciation to the teams at Deloitte and EY for their hospitality and continued support of Lehigh students. Experiences like this highlight the strong relationship between Lehigh University and the accounting profession and remind us of the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.
