February 2018: Book & Bake Sale benefit, IBE students get virtual, new library exhibition & more!

Library & Technology Services continually strives to improve support to the Lehigh community. Next month we will launch our 2018 Client Satisfaction Survey, a follow-up to our 2016 survey, which gathered input and feedback on both library and technology-related services from a representative sample of faculty, staff, and students. Teaching & Learning

Lehigh seniors Alli Rubin, David Morency, John St. Pierre, Winston La, Zhuojie Ji, Bryce Macomber, and Sam Presti developed an application that administers a visual field test used in diagnosing glaucoma. The students used virtual reality (VR) tools in the LTS Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning as part of their Integrated Business and Engineering (IBE) capstone project.

• Join us for the 6th Annual Lehigh Libraries Valentine's Day Book & Bake Sale Benefit!
• Pulitzer Prize-winning author Colson Whitehead will speak at Lehigh in March about his novel The Underground Railroad. The Lehigh MLK Committee and the Council for Equity and Community join with the Friends of the Lehigh Libraries in supporting a book discussion group series on campus prior to Whitehead’s lecture. Join us!
• Following the Stars: Special Collections hosts classes in the Lehigh Libraries.
• New Linderman Exhibition! Selected Works in the History of Data Visualization
• Featured Resource: Access historical census and demographic data with Social Explorer.
• Nexis uni replaces Lexis Nexis Academic.
• Loaner laptops and portable power packs available at both libraries!

Technology

• In December 2017, Web & Mobile Services redesigned Connect Lehigh, your gateway to Lehigh email, Portal, Banner, and other services. Check out the new look!
• In October 2017, Google released a new Calendar interface for Lehigh's G Suite, which has been available to users on an opt-in basis. Google will automatically transition to the new web interface on February 28, 2018. See our November announcement for a description of new features and how to get it now!
• If you are faculty or staff who received a new campus phone, see the Cisco Unity Quick Reference Guide for new voicemail menus and shortcuts, as some features are different than the old phone system. For those who haven’t yet received a new phone, check the schedule for upcoming migrations and what you can expect when LTS migrates your building.
