In this month of Thanksgiving, take a moment to learn about a few of the myriad ways Library & Technology Services is advancing the university’s teaching, learning, and research missions.

Teaching & Learning

• The Lost Village of Christian Springs project - Lehigh’s Mountaintop Initiative funded a student-led research project in which Claire Bradshaw '16, James-Evan Copti '15, Stefan Harrigan, Ian Spolarich '18, and Juliana Young '18 transcribed, translated, and analyzed original documents housed at the Moravian Archives in Bethlehem, PA, and worked with LTS staff to develop a website The Lost Village of Christian's Spring to disseminate their findings. Professor Scott Paul Gordon of the Department of English supervised the research team.

Libraries

• New JSTOR e-books - Lehigh University provides access to scholarly e-books on JSTOR in a pilot program partnership with the The Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI). Learn more about accessing these e-books.
• Linderman Family updates historic Bible - While numerous celebrations took place across campus during Founder's Day weekend, one family celebrated the occasion in an especially meaningful way. On October 2nd, members of the Linderman family gathered in the Special Collections Reading Room to update the Linderman Family Bible.
• LTS 5x10s reach first year students - Each fall, incoming students attend five learning/experiential sessions in ten weeks to engage with the Lehigh community and its resources. LTS staff offered three sessions including "What's So Special About Special Collections?","Transcribe-a-thon: From hands-off to hands-on, digitizing history", and "How to Win a Research Prize". • Squirrels of Lehigh Photo Contest winners announced - See the names of the student and faculty/staff winners as well as a photo gallery of all the submissions.

Technology

• New to Lehigh Gmail or exploring features prior to migrating? You’ll want to learn about the unique contacts integration with Google Calendar and Drive in addition to the basics. Check out this new video, Creating and using Google Contacts as well as the LTS documentation on contacts.
