October 2015

October is a month full of events that support teaching, learning, and research. In addition, October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Take a few minutes to learn about how to stay safe online, tips on using Gmail folders, and learn about new additions to our collections.

Teaching & Learning

• The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) in the EWFM Library has a full schedule of events for faculty, students, and staff. Visit citl.lehigh.edu for more.

Libraries

• The Friends of the Lehigh Libraries honored faculty authors at a reception on September 22.
• Special Collections contributed five unique diaries showcasing the diversity of our collections to the Digital Diaries Project.
• New digital journal archives were acquired to expand online access to older literature and provide additional student seating in the EWFM Library.

Technology

• Share your candy… Not your credentials this Halloween! Learn about keeping your online identity safe.
• Gmail labels: Organizing your mail. Never lose an email message again! The key to better organization with Lehigh Gmail is the label feature. With Lehigh Gmail you can organize your mail with labels -- they're similar to folders in Thunderbird and MacMail, but offer extended power and functionality, especially when combined with Gmail's searching, filtering, and other functions. See two video tutorials covering Gmail labels and how they can be used.
