ERC presents short course in China

Lehigh University ERC Director Dr. Carlos E. Romero, Professor Emeritus Dr. Edward Levy, and ERC Research Scientist Zheng Yao traveled to Jinan City in Shandong Province, PRC, to present the short course, "Emissions Control and Performance Improvement For Coal-Fired Power Plants," on August 26 and 27, 2014.

The course, which was sponsored by Zibo Juyi Power Installation and Engineering Company, was attended by more than 150 manager and engineers from over 80 power plants and industrial facilities.

The course focused on coal-fired steam cycle power plants and techniques for efficiency improvement and methods to reduce emissions of NOx, SO2, particulates, mercury and other air toxics produced by burning coal.

Following the course presentation, the ERC team visited several power plants to discuss pollution control issues and mitigation efforts.
