What I wished I had done differently:

  • The survey question all in one lump of a paragraph like that was not a good idea.  It didn't help students focus on exactly what I wanted them to, and it didn't make tabulating results easy either. The specifically numbered parts is much the better format.
  • I repeat -- this is even clearer to me after this survey: it would have provided a better initial point-of-comparison for this project if I had not introduced the five eyes at all and, instead, simply had them serve "cold," just to see what their natural responses in this situation would be.
