Welcome to the ME 242 - Spring 2005 web page!!! All the material of the course will be posted here as the term proceeds.

Course Objective:

Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation are indispensable components in almost any modern engineering design process. This course introduces juniors in mechanical engineering to modeling techniques for lumped parameter systems. Mechanical, fluid, thermal, electric, vibrational, and hybrid systems are studied. Numerical methods for ordinary differential equations are introduced as the foundation for understanding modern simulation tools. MATLAB is used extensively during the course for the simulation different dynamical systems.
