Subject: PhD Studentships in Aberdeen (open to overseas students) From: Ran Levi Date: Fri, 22 Apr 2005 15:04:18 +0100 Dear Colleagues, Pure Mathematics at Aberdeen has just been awarded three PhD studentships, each for three years beginning in session 2005-06 covering all university fees and a providing a yearly maintenance allowance of £12,000 (British Pounds), increasing in later years These are for research in "Topology and Geometry" or "Representation Theory of Groups and Algebras". They are unusual in our experience in that they are available to EU students not just UK students, and we might be able to make a case for non EU students as well. (We have extra EPSRC Studentships still available for UK students.) Please will you pass this information on to any of your students who might be interested. Details of the Department and its research can be found at http://www.maths.abdn.ac.uk/ . Enquiries can be addressed to Steve Theriault s.theriault@maths.abdn.ac.uk or directly to one of the potential supervisors listed in the Research Section of the Department's Home Page above. Thanks, Ran
