Subject: job posting From: Nige Ray Date: Fri, 09 Jun 2006 16:24:05 +0100 LECTURESHIP IN GEOMETRY AND TOPOLOGY AT MANCHESTER Following the recent appointment of Professor Victor M Buchstaber, the School of Mathematics at the University of Manchester invites applications for a Lectureship in Pure Mathematics in Geometry and Topology. This is a permanent position, subject to the standard probationary procedures, and the successful candidate will be expected to take up their duties by January 2007, or sooner if possible. By September 2007 the School expects to have moved into a newly constructed building, with dedicated research facilities for MIMS. Candidates with interests in any area of the subject are encouraged to apply, and preference may be given to those with achievements in one or more of the following: * Geometry and Mathematical Physics * Categorical aspects of Homotopy Theory and Cobordism * Homotopy Algebras, Brackets and Deformations *Algebraic Topology and Combinatorics of Toric Spaces.
