Subject: late developing positions at Purdue Date: Mon, 30 Jul 2001 14:11:31 -0500 From: Clarence Wilkerson To: Don Davis CC: "dmd1@lehigh.edu (Don Davis)" (Don Davis) <"dmd1"@lehigh.edu>, wilker@math.purdue.edu I received word from our head that we've suddently in need of people for this fall ( 3 weeks from now ). Here's the note. To: faculty@math.purdue.edu From: Carl Cowen This year, as has often been the case recently, as the Fall semester approaches, enrollments increase or hold firm, and the size of our teaching staff seems too small. We have recently received permission to hire two new staff members for the coming year. We have made one offer but seek more names of people who might be available for a year starting in August. Please keep in mind that visa issues are problematic: last year two staff members were unable to teach for a few weeks in the fall because they did not have permission to work in the US until into September. Strong preference will be given to someone who we know will have permission to work at the beginning of the semester. You can send names, contact information, and other information to me by email or by putting it in my mailbox. Thanks, Carl
