Subject: Date: Sun, 10 Mar 2002 18:38:19 +0300 (IRT) From: abbasmousavi@math.sharif.edu This question arised at an undergraguate class on differential geometry. when the frenet frame of a smoosh closed space curve traces the curve one turn, endpoint of its normal vector constructs another curve in space. these two curves have a linking number. What this linking number means, is there anything about it in litrature? (we compute it for a specific (2,3)torus knot and a specific eight knot and it was 6 and 0.) A.Mousavi
