Hurricane Floyd Data (September 1999)

Graph of Stream Stage and Weir data

The increased stream flow carried an abundance of twigs and leaf matter, which began to collect in the weir.  This build up caused the recorded weir level to increase. The debris was removed on Friday, September 18 and the weir level dramatically decreased . The following graph shows precipitation and weir level. The blue line on the graph represents weir level with the log taken into consideration. The yellow line represents adjusted weir level, not accounting for the debris.  The adjusted level was calculated by taking a linear interpolation of the percent change caused by the log.
