Academic Education

The Center for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology is dedicated to supporting all materials-related research at Lehigh. An essential part of this mission is the education and professional development of the post-doctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers who are working to advance materials research.

Post-doctoral research fellows and graduate students supervised by CAMN faculty have access to some of the world's most sophisticated equipment for materials synthesis and characterization. Opportunities for cultural exchange, training to become future teachers, and guidance through the job search process are offered through the Office of Graduate Life. Applications for graduate study and post-doctoral employment should be directed to the academic department of interest.

Undergraduates are encouraged to explore research early in their academic careers through academic-year and summer projects in CAMN laboratories. Students may contact faculty members directly, or they may apply for summer funding through the Physics REU Program.
