In early January, the innovative LehighSiliconValley program brought Lehigh undergraduate and graduate students together with alumni and other Silicon Valley leaders for a weeklong immersion into new venture creation. Hosted by Lehigh’s Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation, the students focused on real companies, real players, and real situations in real time. “What does it take to be an entrepreneur? Perseverance, drive, a willingness to make a difference and some fundamental grounding in something you do well,” J. Stuart Ryan ’81 told the group as he and fellow members of the Lehigh Board of Trustees Dennis E. Singleton III ’66 and John Glanville ’77 provided a warm California welcome during the opening festivities.
