Bob Hannan graduated from Lehigh in 1982 with a B.S. in chemical engineering. Currently he is a microfinance consultant with HelpArgentina Organization, a nonprofit "whose mission is to strengthen Argentine civil society through the mobilization of donors and volunteers and the promotion of best practices". Before joining HelpArgentina, Hannan earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and worked for Exxon, Merrill Lynch, and Charles Schwab.
Help Argentina Organization's microfinance program enables a poor individual with a viable business idea to receive a small loan between $50 and $250 to start or to expand a micro-enterprise. These enterprises can be any kind of business, including bakeries, carpentry, clothing repair, etc.
