Areas of interest for topology include alebraic, differential, geometric, symplectic and low- dimensional topology. The deadline for applications is December 1, 2004. All the fine print about qualifications and requirements for candidates may be viewed online at the appropriate AMS and departmental sites. Also, the Department has been authorized to initiate another search to fill the F. Burton Jones Chair in Topology. This is a senior level appointment; established criteria of the UC system will determine the rank and salary. The position will be advertised in the usual AMS venues. Nominations, applications (CV, publications lists and names of at least five references) and supporting materials should be sent to the Department Chairman (Professor Bun Wong, ex officio Chair of the Burton Jones Chair Search Committee) at Department of Mathematics, University of California, riverside CA 92521-0135. Initial review of applications will begin on March 1, 2005, and will continue ontil the position is filled. The University of California at Riverside is a rapidly growing campus with over 16,000 students.
