Subject: A question (for the list) on Lie algebras From: Antonio Viruel Date: Tue, 30 Nov 2004 09:34:35 +0100 To: Don Davis Dear all, An algebraist college asked me the following: is there any "topological situation" in which a graded Lie algebra L arises such that for evey x\in L, [x,[x,L]]=Fx where F is the ground field? The condition [x,[x,L]]=Fx forces the algebra to be Z-graded, and I am afraid all the examples coming to my mind are N-graded (but possibly Morava K-theory but then I do not know any meaningful Lie bracket). Any ideas? Many thanks in advance, Antonio
