Subject: Special year, 2003 Date: Tue, 20 Nov 2001 09:47:48 +1100 (EST) From: Amnon Neeman To: amnon.neeman@anu.edu.au Dear Colleagues, There will be a special year in algebraic geometry and topology at the Australian National University, in Canberra, in 2003. The Australian academic year runs from March to November, and the special year will be during that period. We hope the special year will be very lively, with many of you taking part. There already are some funds set aside to help visitors, and in 2002 we will be applying for substantially more. Nevertheless we would like to encourage the participants, especially those who wish to come for extended periods, to apply for funds from outside sources. There are many such sources; those interested should get in touch with me, the sooner the better. Please feel very free to advertise the special year to your friends. If you know of someone I should add to the mailing list, I would be very grateful. This goes especially for younger mathematicians and recent PhD's. We would very much like many fresh PhD's to come. Yours, Amnon
