Dr. Chao Zhou's research interests are in biomedical optics, optical coherence tomography (OCT), optical coherence microscopy (OCM), diffuse optical spectroscopy/imaging, laser speckle imaging. Specifically, his lab is developing ultrahigh-speed and ultrahigh-resolution OCT and OCM technologies for cancer imaging, developmental biology, tissue engineering, and 3D imaging of brain functions.
Dr. Zhou joined the Lehigh faculty in 2012. Prior to this appointment, he served as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Zhou has published over 47 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Cancer Research, Nature Medicine, Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism, Optics Letters, Optics Express and Journal of Biomedical Optics. The recipient of numerous honors and awards including the National Institute of Health Pathway to Independence Award, he has presented his work at conferences and invited talks across the United States.
