Library and Technology Services is retiring the Virtual Public Site, which offered users a way to run software virtually within a full desktop environment, on Thursday, August 17. In its place, users will run individual software titles on an as-needed basis.
As previously announced, virtualizing individual software packages provides a much faster and more reliable method for accessing select programs.
Virtual software allows users to run programs not installed on their computers by accessing them through the Horizon VMware Client, which is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
Instructions for using virtual software are available at https://go.lehigh.edu/virtual.
FACULTY: If you used the Virtual Public Site in your courses, refer students to these instructions and test your assignments in advance.
Any questions about the new virtual software deployment can be directed to the LTS Help Desk at 610-758-4357 or helpdesk@lehigh.edu. We also welcome your feedback at https://go.lehigh.edu/vsfeedback.
Sincerely, Library and Technology Services
