Remote Desktop Services: Improved Software Delivery Service to replace the Virtual Public Site

LTS has implemented the next generation of the Virtual Public Site called Remote Desktop Services (RDS) for improved performance, portability, and ease-of-use. Instead of running software inside a virtual Windows desktop experience (the Virtual Public Site), each application will be available as a separate icon. This technology allows you to select and run only the application you need. RDS is accessed through the Horizon VMware Client, which is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS and Android.

For an interim period both the Virtual Public Site icon and the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) software icons will be available. When the transition period ends, Remote Desktop Services technology will be offered exclusively. The screenshot below shows the application options that are available in the VMWare client.

Important: When saving files, network and local drive locations will be different from the Virtual Public Site. Note the default drive location when you save a file. Select another location if desired.
