Welcome to Lehigh!
This message describes some services provided by Lehigh’s Telecommunications Services area.
LU-ALERT Emergency Message Notification system
LU-ALERT sends a mobile text alert to all students, faculty, and staff who have subscribed to the service in cases of imminent danger, or when an emergency situation will impact a significant number of people. All members of the campus community are strongly encouraged to register their contact information. For more information see: http://www1.lehigh.edu/emergency/prepared/lualert
Special Needs
Our Telecommunications staff is available to provide services and equipment to accommodate individuals with special needs and/or disabilities. Contact our office at 610-758-5005 to discuss any special requirements.
Wireless Telephones
Lehigh University has an agreement with AT&T Mobility to provide wireless phone communications. This partnership benefits the entire University community, especially our students. More information: http://lts.lehigh.edu/services/explanation/wireless-phone-service-students
Telephones in Student Residences
One telephone line is provided for each room; students sharing a room are expected to share the line. Students wanting telephone service in their room are expected to provide their own standard telephone. More information: http://lts.lehigh.edu/services/explanation/telephones-student-residences
Long Distance Service
Lehigh University uses an on-campus system to handle the billing of long-distance calls made from on-campus telephones. More information on how to sign up for long-distance service and calling rates is available at: http://lts.lehigh.edu/services/explanation/your-personal-security-code-psc-users-guide
Toll-Free Numbers, Calling Cards and Collect Calls
When using calling cards (other than the prepaid type), be aware of any charges that your calling card vendor might bill directly to you. The cost of any billable incoming call received by a particular extension will be divided among the room occupants. Billing for collect and other billable calls may not occur immediately, since billing information must first be forwarded from our local service provider to Lehigh.
Lehigh’s Voice Mail Service
Students may request a voice mail account for their student residence telephone. The cost of voice mail is covered under the student technology fee. More information: http://lts.lehigh.edu/services/faq/student-voice-mail-faq
Our Telecommunications Services staff look forward to meeting your telecommunications needs and we wish you success at Lehigh University!
