The latest release of the Google Chrome web browser (version 42), released the week of April 13, 2015, includes several security enhancements, including the inability to use Java web applications (such as Argos, Banner, Blackboard Collaborate, and others). Chrome has made this decision based on security recommendations from Apple, Cisco, and the Federal government to minimize exposure to Java.
If you are not currently experiencing problems using Chrome, no action is required on your part. If you encounter websites that no longer function correctly in Chrome, LTS suggests you use an alternative web browser such as Mozilla Firefox for those applications.
