Subject: Jobs and PhD scholarships in Bonn From: Stefan Schwede Date: Fri, 22 Dec 2006 16:41:08 +0100 (CET) The mathematics institutes at the university of Bonn and the Max Planck Insitute for Mathematics in Bonn recently won a grant (officially called "Cluster of Excellence") from which we founded the HAUSDORFF CENTER FOR MATHEMATICS see http://www.hausdorff-center.uni-bonn.de/ Among other things, the center aims to fill 8 positions of "Bonn Junior Fellows" and 30 doctoral scholarships in the near future. The 8 "Bonn Junior Fellow" positions are intended for excellent young scientists. These W2 professor position (limited to five years) should allow the candidates to develop their own research agenda after a few postdoctoral years. They are endowed with a postdoctoral/PhD position each, travel funds and teaching duties only on the graduate level. As not all positions will be assigned at the same time, there will be several separate selection rounds. The application deadline for the first round is February 28th, 2007.
