The University Faculty Award was created by NSERC to encourage Canadian universities to appoint very promising women researchers to tenure-track positions in science and engineering. Further information on the program can be found be found at the following web page: http://www.nserc.ca/programs/sf/UFA_e.htm The nominee from our Department will have an outstanding record of research and publication in a field related to one of the existing areas of strengths of the Department; these include homotopy theory, algebraic K-theory, cyclic homology, algebraic groups, complex analysis and analytic geometry. The candidate will also have a commitment to and aptitude for teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and will be expected to supervise graduate theses.
