Uploading Webpages from Dreamweaver with SSH's Secure File Transfer


To install SSH with Secure File Transfer

SSH is available from the Security Software download page: https://www.lehigh.edu/security/download/

It is also available from the Install Software icon for on-campus users.

To connect to your webspace with SSH

* If you don't have a webspace directory, or to go to another webspace directory than your own webspace:

There are two ways to upload material to the webspace:

Drag and Drop

Be sure to upload any graphics or other dependent files as well as the main file; SSH will not do this automatically for you.

Viewing and Deleting web documents with SSH

To view a document from your webspace, double-click on it. SSH will download it into a temporary directory and open it with whichever browser or other application you have defined for that file type. (For web pages, it will open it in whatever your default browser is.

To delete a document from your webspace, click on it and press the delete key, or right-click on it and choose Delete from the drop-down menu. You will be asked if you are sure you wish to delete the item. Click on 'Yes' and it will be deleted.

To disconnect from the remote site, go to the File menu and choose Disconnect.
When asked if you want to disconnect, click Yes.
Then click on the close box for the window or choose Exit from the File menu to get out of SSH.
