Day Nine
- 13 miles
Trefonen to Pont-Cysyllte Aqueduct
MBack to the gentle hills here, culminating
in a distant view of Chirk Castle. An optional route on the walk visits
the castle, with its sculptured gardens and beautifully restored interior.
This is one of the more photogenic days of the walk. Then a descent to the
Dee Valley and its awe- inspiring aqueduct, which carries the Telford
Canal over the river. Boats take tourists
on this canal, which connects with others, on relatively long trips.
