COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL - MINUTES

January 11, 2008

 

Kristin Dundon, Home/School Association President:

·                     Thank you 4th grade Moms for sponsoring this coffee. 

 

·                     Thank you everyone who helped make the social after the Christmas Liturgy so beautiful, a special thank you to Grace Ward for designing the decoration scheme.

 

·                     Casino Night is cancelled - due lack of interest and too close to Tricky Tray date.

 

·                     Market Day – Pleased with 2nd month’s success.  Nearly $300 profit.  If we keep at this track, we will earn $2700 profit this year.

 

·                     Basket Bingo – Friday, May 9, 2008.

 

·                     Yvonne Schaeffer – Tricky Tray Canvassing, earn 3 points, contact Yvonne if interested.

 

·                     Find out more about your school without wasting paper – Click on the “Notify Me” link on the Home/School Association School Notes Web site, enter your email address and you will be automatically notified each time we update the site.

 

·                     Board Positions open for next year:  President and Treasurer – please consider these volunteering for one of these positions.

 

·                     Shawn Blasco is in need of help – she needs some parent volunteers to be present during the AM masses Tuesdays and Thursdays during Lent.  If you are interested, please contact her.

 

·                     Wendy Wilson is coordinating the Parent Liturgy during Catholic School’s week.  Contact her if interested in participating.

 

Mr. Reese, Principal:

·                     Christmas Angel and Secret Santa Shopping raised nearly $1500.

 

·                     School purchased new screen, used during Christmas Liturgy.

 

·                     WOW! The Marian Inn looked beautiful for the Christmas Liturgy Social, demonstrated such a sense of style and grace.  Thank you to all.

 

·                     Exam Week is next week – Don’t stress, just review and rest.

 

·                     Catholic Schools Week – Open house 10AM-12Noon, after 9AM mass, Sunday, January 27th. Tell your friends and neighbors to visit.

 

·                     Catholic Schools Week – Monday – Report Cards, Tuesday – Bingo, Thursday – Seniors Breakfast, Friday – Mission Mardi Gras

 

·                     Need Senior Readers for Tuesday and Thursday mornings – don’t have to be a “Senior”, but do need to complete “Protecting God’s Children”

 

·                     Second graders are making their 1st Reconciliation this month.

 

·                     Sssh … Secret Info about Monsignor Sachs’ 70th Birthday:  January 24th – Dress Down Day -$1 goes to his birthday gift, January 25th – Celebrate Monsignor Sachs’ birthday at AM mass!

 

·                     Father Cletus leaves this week for Nigeria – Thank you to Amanda McGee and MaryPaige Nesfeder for implementing their idea to collect change for Father Cletus to donate to his hometown.  So far over $900 has been collected.

 

·                     Pasta for Pennies Kick Off was this week – Kayla McGuire and Liz Zurick, two of the 8th grade student ambassadors, attended the luncheon at the Olive Garden.

 

·                     February 6 is Ash Wednesday.  Every Thursday during Lent, Stations of the Cross will be held at 2:15PM. On March 13, the 8th grade students will present the Living Stations of the Cross.  Please join us.

 

·                     Thank you to Liz Zurick who presented the idea of a school mascot.  She found a company who manufactures mascot costumes and the costume should be in this week.  Hope to be available for Catholic Schools Week. Liz will be the first mascot.

 

·                     Mrs. Roman has recently accepted a position at Moravian College.  We will miss her.  Mrs. Grace Ward has agreed to be the new 2nd grade teacher’s aide.  Welcome.
