Michael F. Kaelber, Esq., is the Director of the NJSBA Legal, Policy and Labor Relations Services Department. A member of the NJSBA staff since March 1988, he previously served as an associate with the Woodbridge New Jersey law firm of Hutt, Berkow and Jankowski and was a mathematics teacher in the Woodbridge Township school district from 1973 through 1986. He has served as staff liaison to several NJSBA committees, has co-authored numerous NJSBA publications and is a frequent presenter on school law issues at programs sponsored by the NJSBA and other educational and legal organizations. He has been a part of the Lehigh University Special Education and Law Conference for more than 20 years and believes that Perry Zirkel is the best education law presenter he has ever seen. Mr. Kaelber is a 1973 graduate of Lafayette College, A.B. Math, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, Rutgers University, M.S. Statistics, 1977 and Rutgers University School of Law, J.D., 1986. Mr. Kaelber lives in Woodbridge with his wife Patricia, a business education teacher in the Woodbridge Township school system, a graduate of Rider University, B.S. Business Education and The College of New Jersey M.Ed. Business and Distributive Education and son Brian, a May 2010 graduate of DeSales University, B.A. Mathematics, and a high school mathematics teacher in the Woodbridge township school system. Daughter Kelli, a 2004 graduate of Albright College, cum laude, Kean University M.A. Education with distinction, 2009, and a second grade teacher in the Woodbridge Township school system resides in Rahway with her husband Len Schaefer.
