ERIN D. GILSBACH, ESQ., is the Director of Professional Education and Policy Development at King Spry Herman Freund & Faul, LLC and the Greyfriars Institute, King Spry's educational affiliate entity dedicated to providing quality training on the law for educators and school leaders. Attorney Gilsbach has been named one of Pennsylvania's Rising Star attorneys of 2013 by Philadelphia Magazine. She travels throughout PA, NJ and DE presenting professional development programs on a variety of education law topics, including confidentiality in schools, the IDEA and Section 504, child abuse and mandatory reporting, school nursing and the law, the Educator Discipline Act, social media in schools, bullying, and the legal challenges of integrating outside technology into schools, among others. In addition, Attorney Gilsbach plans, designs and presents the curriculum for the Greyfriars Institute's professional development seminars, which address a variety of pertinent legal and policy issues for educators and school leaders. In addition to staff development, Attorney Gilsbach specializes in working with district administrators and school boards to create legally-defensible public school board policies and administrative regulations as well as provide consulting and litigation services.

Prior to joining KingSpry, Atty. Gilsbach served for over two years at the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of Chief Counsel. Gilsbach began her career in the public school classroom as a full-time public high school English teacher for several years prior to entering law school. Atty. Gilsbach received a B.A. in English with a minor in Secondary Education from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. While teaching high school English, she pursued a Masters in Education degree from Pennsylvania State University. She received her Juris Doctorate from Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. Attorney Gilsbach currently serves on the advisory committee for the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Truancy Toolkit and on the Board of Directors of the Weller Health Education Center.
