Sunday's Tour (June 15th):
Sunday's tour is just a short warm-up tour to help get you acquainted with
the area. It is also a good opportunity to get any kinks worked out of
your cars and make sure they are in good condition for the week ahead.
This tour travels around the outskirts of Bennington and is around 25 miles
long.
Monday's Tour (June 16th):
This tour will be approximately 86 miles. It is easily one of the more
scenic tours with very 'Vermontesque' roads. It stops at Hildene (the famed home of Robert Todd
Lincoln) and also travels through Manchester, VT which is the
shopping mecca of southern VT.
Tuesday's Tour (June 17th):
This tour will be the longest of the week at 100 miles. It travels to
the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown,
MA and then continues to the North
River Winery of Jacksonville, VT.
Wednesday's Tour (June 18th):
This tour will again be around 45 miles and will take us to the 5 covered bridges of
Bennington County and a stop at the Bennington Center for the Arts which
features a Covered Bridge
museum.
Thursday's Tour (June 19th):
This tour will be around 45 miles long and will take us to the site of the
famous Bennington Battle and the Nuns/Monks of New Skete Monastery.
The Bennington Battle is considered a major turning point in the American
Revolutionary War.
Friday's Tour (June 20th):
This is a short 15 mile tour with many attractions. This tour will stop
at the Bennington
Museum (an item of particular interest may be 'The Martin-Wasp'), The Park-McCullough Mansion, and the
Robert Frost Stone House
Museum.
