13th Himalaya-Karakoram-Tibet International Workshop

We are pleased to announce holding of the next Himalaya-Karakoram-Tibet International Workshop (HKTIW) at Peshawar. HKTIW has been an annual event since 1985, held mainly in Europe but once each in Nepal and USA. The workshop is focused on reporting the current research in all disciplines of earth sciences concerning the Himalaya and associated mountain ranges in south-central Asia. Primarily being informal, the workshop is an ideal forum for presentation of results ranging from those outcoming from professional organizations to graduate students at universities. Amongst others, the 13th HKTIW will focus on the following themes:
The meeting will comprise oral-poster presentations for three days at the premises of the National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar, followed by a week-long field excursion along the Karakoram Highway through Himalaya, Kohistan and Karakoram.
Most of the participants will be accommodated at the University guest
houses on Campus
(at a cost not exceeding US $ 30/day; including meals).
Tentatively, there will be a cost of US $ 500 per person for the field
excursion.
A registration fee of US $ 150 will be payable covering the
cost of the abstract volume, lunch and tea/coffee during the workshop.
