Brief Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Lehigh University. Previously, I was a visiting Post-Doc at the University of California, Berkeley, hosted by Prof. Venkat Anantharam. I received my B.Tech in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2002, and my M.S and Ph.D degree in electrical engineering in 2005 and 2007 respectively from Cornell University under the advice of Prof. Lang Tong.

My current research interests are in developing theoretical foundations for privacy in networks. Specfifcally, I apply tools in statistical signal processing, information theory and game-theory to study fundamental trade-offs between privacy and performance in networks under different adversarial conditions. I am also interested in studying anonymity in a more general category of networked systems such as peer production and transportation. More details about my research can be found here. My doctoral research was in the area of wireless sensor networks, specifically on distributed multiple access communication and statistical inference in large networks. Two publications that resulted from my doctoral research received the 2005 Leonard G. Abraham Prize and a 2006 IEEE ICASSP Best Student Paper Award.
