I am beginning my tenth year teaching journalism and communication courses at Lehigh and my second year as a Class of 1961 Professor. Before coming to Lehigh, I earned my Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina and my master's in journalism at the University of Texas. I also have a law degree from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in speech from Northwestern.

I have worked as a news editor and content producer at the online Austin American-Statesman, as a litigation attorney in Washington, D.C., and on the copy desk at The Tampa Tribune.
