Me, as a South Park character. (Make your own here.)

My name is Jason Stanford, and I am the IT Manager of the Wilbur Powerhouse at Lehigh University. I manage a high-profile, high-performance computer lab mainly catering to the design arts, and consisting of approximately fifty Apple Macintosh computers, roughly half being Mac Pro1 and half 24in iMacs2 supported by several Xserve servers. All are running Mac OS X “Leopard” (10.5). Additionally numerous software titles from Adobe, Alias/AutoDesk, Google, Microsoft, etc are available for use. The lab is currently “v3.0,” as I performed a full hardware upgrade the summer of 2008. I am very proud of the facility here, and work very hard to make sure things run as stably and smoothly as I am capable.

The Wilbur Powerhouse is the hub for a growing number of cross-disciplinary, team-based, comprehensive integrated programs at Lehigh that generally focus on entrepreneurship, product design, and visual communications, sometimes with and sometimes without industry sponsorship of particular projects. These programs currently include Design Arts Program (DAP) and Integrated Product Development (IPD).

We have a large group of highly talented, intelligent, creative, and driven faculty, staff and students who converge on The Powerhouse every day. It is a highly dynamic, comfortable, fun, interesting and creative space to be in. I would highly recommend to any student wishing to have a fulfilling experience here at Lehigh to please check out one of these integrated programs. You will work hard, granted. But I have personally witnessed many students have great success upon graduation because they invested a lot of time and effort in themselves within these programs. (Ecotech Marine is a perfect example of student entrepreneurship born of good ideas incubated within the IPD program.)
