Welcome to our chapter!

The Lehigh University student chapter of the Optical Society of America (OSA) is a student-run organization interested in the promotion of optical science and technology. Our mission is to provide exciting educational, networking, and outreach activities for the Lehigh community. Anyone interested in optics is encouraged to join us and participate in our events! The OSA Student Chapter was founded by Mina Esmaeelpour, Corey LaFontaine, Ling Cai, Sudeep Khanal and Jeff Biser in Summer 2012. The advisor of the OSA student chapter is Prof. Jean Toulouse from physics department.

Our events and activities involve meetings with the members and institutional leaders of Pennsylvania, seminars and lecture series by renowned scientists in related fields. We regularly organize coffee socials with students and faculty to promote interaction and collaboration between optical research groups at Lehigh University.

Aside from above, we also have Monthly Talk, which is each month one of our members will make a presentation about an interesting topic of optical technology. We always meet to have fun and learn at the same time. Please come and join us!
