Since the Spring of 2007, WIRED has staffed a walk-up help desk with student consultants, primarily to assist off-campus students with issues relating to computer configurations and software for use at Lehigh. Since we're unable to send student consultants off-campus to you, we've set up this desk so you can come to them. You can simply have questions answered, demonstrate problems, or, if need be, drop off your machine for more extensive work.
The Consulting desk is located in the lower level of the EWFM Computing Center -- enter from the doorway on the west side of the Fair-Mart patio (on your left as you head toward Campus Square), and take the stairs or elevator down two levels and walk straight out of the elevator/stairwell area to the southeast corner of the public-use computing area. We have a window there with a service desk.
Be aware that there is usually only one consultant at the desk, and they only work while the office is open. As well, they work on machines in the order they are received. Depending on the workload, it may take several days to process your machine if you have to drop it off for extended work. In some cases, setting up an appointment with a field consultant via the Request Form may be a faster option.
