Lehigh University Selects e-Procurement from Mercury Commerce

First to Use the New Interface Between easyPurchase and Banner

Lehigh University has partnered with Mercury Commerce Solutions, a market leader in online procurement for higher education, to announce the upcoming implementation of an integrated electronic procurement solution. Lehigh University will serve as the lead institution for the integration between easyPurchase™ Enterprise and SunGard Banner®.

ePAL (ePurchasing At Lehigh) is an enterprise-wide procurement tool that will save Lehigh time and money. ePAL is a user friendly system that automates the requisition process with integration to Banner, and features encumbrance accounting and a web interface that leverages Banner information and established Banner financial and business rules. In addition to ePAL, the Sourcing Solutions Suite includes other electronic tools that enable electronic competitive bidding, and requests for quotes and RFP/RFI processes. The new system is scheduled to go live Summer 2011 via departmental phased implementation.

“Getting the results of our contracting activities in front of University requisitioners was a key cost savings goal,” said Jane Altemose, Strategic Sourcing Manager for Lehigh University. “With ePAL, our users have easy online visibility to Lehigh contracts, State contracts, and cooperative contracts from the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC).”

“We are thrilled to add an institution with the stature of Lehigh University to our growing list of Higher Education customers,” said Dan Corazzi, President of Mercury Commerce Solutions. “Lehigh will very quickly automate all aspects of their procurement process, from purchasing through sourcing.”
